Serenity House To Open in Ravenna
Serenity House is a collaboration between Neighborhood Development Services and Townhall II Integrated Health Network to offer shelter to those in the greatest need, who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Housed in a secure location, guests will have access to mental health counseling and medical help, as needed.
“Serenity House will fulfill a need for additional residential facilities offering housing for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis throughout Portage County,” Stacy Brown, executive director of Neighborhood Development Services, said in a news release. “This crisis may be homelessness, recovery, mental health or other barriers to assistance. NDS is proud to be working with local service provider Townhall II to open doors to residents facing short and long-term mental health challenges.”
The new facility, which is currently being renovated and prepared for guests, can house eight individuals.
“The combination of NDS’ housing expertise coupled with the clinical expertise of Townhall II will provide the community and Serenity House residents with vital resources to improve their mental health and stabilize their housing situation,” stated Tamera Hunter, CEO of Townhall II.
